Staying safe in P2P trades
Never trade outside the platform
Any trader suggesting you deal directly โ on WhatsApp, Telegram, 'to save fees' โ is setting up to steal from you. There is no legitimate reason. Report and move on.
Never release before the money lands
Not 'sent', not a screenshot. In your account and spendable. Screenshots are trivially faked and some payments reverse days later.
Pay from an account in your own name
Third-party payments are the classic setup for a stolen-funds dispute in which you lose both the crypto and the money.
Keep everything in the platform chat
If it is not in the chat, support cannot see it during a dispute.
Never mention crypto in a bank reference
Some banks automatically flag or freeze such transfers. Use only the reference the order provides.
Be suspicious of unusually good rates
A rate far better than everyone else's is bait, not a bargain.
