QR sign-in is not working

QR sign-in lets you sign into the website by scanning with the app.

If the scan will not read

• Increase screen brightness. The most common fix by far.
• Hold steady, about 20cm away. Too close will not focus.
• Avoid glare — tilt the screen slightly away from overhead lights.
• Clean your camera lens. Also more common than you would think.
• Check the code has not expired. Codes last two minutes. Refresh the page for a new one.

Use the code instead

Below the QR is a six-character code. In the app, choose Enter code instead and type it. This always works, regardless of camera quality.

Why 2FA is asked for

Approving a web session grants access to your account. Without the second check, brief physical access to your unlocked phone would be enough for someone to take a session. The code confirms it is really you.
