Why verification was rejected

Rejections are almost always technical rather than suspicious. The message states the reason — here is what each means.

Document not readable

Blur, glare or shadow. Retake in even light, hold steady, tilt slightly away from any direct light source.

Document expired

The expiry date has passed. You need a current document — there is no way around this.

Name mismatch

Your account name differs from the document. 'Sam' versus 'Samuel' is enough to fail. Update your account name to match the ID exactly, then resubmit.

Liveness check failed

Poor lighting, a partly obscured face, or moving too fast. Find even light, remove glasses, and follow the prompts slowly.

Document already used

The same ID is already on another account. Only one account per person is permitted. Contact support if you believe this is an error.

How many attempts do I get?

Several. Repeated failures may require manual review, which takes longer but is still resolvable through support.
