How to Earn From Referrals Without Trading

Referral programmes are one of the few ways to earn on an exchange without taking any market risk. They are also widely misunderstood, so here is how they actually work.

The basic mechanic

You share a personal link. Someone signs up through it. As they use the platform, you both earn rewards. No trading, no capital at risk.

Exchanges do this because acquiring customers through advertising is expensive. Paying users who bring genuine users is cheaper and works better.

Milestones, not signups

A common misunderstanding: rewards do not usually arrive the moment someone registers. That would be trivially easy to abuse with fake accounts.

Instead, rewards unlock as the person you invited reaches real milestones — completing verification, making a first trade, reaching a volume threshold. Both of you earn at each step.

This is deliberate. It means the programme rewards bringing real users, not creating empty accounts.

What actually works

Invite people who were going to join anyway. Friends already asking how to buy crypto. Their questions are the opening.

Be useful first. A guide, a walkthrough, an answer to a question people keep asking. Then the link. The link on its own is spam and everyone can tell.

Help them get set up. Someone who gets stuck at verification never reaches a milestone. Ten minutes helping is worth more than a hundred link posts.

Be honest about risk. Someone who loses money they could not afford will not thank you, and will not stay.

What does not work

• Posting your link in unrelated comment sections. Ignored at best, banned at worst.
• Creating fake accounts. Detected reliably, and it usually costs you the whole balance.
• Promising returns. You cannot, and saying so creates real problems for you.

Reading the terms

Check what the reward actually is, when it unlocks, whether it expires, the minimum before you can convert it, and the rate. All of these vary, and all of them change what the programme is worth.
